Latest Parish News

Dear People of God,

"This joyful Eastertide, away with sin and sorrow! Our love the Crucified, has sprung to life this morrow! Had Christ who once was slain not burst his 3-day prison, our faith had been in vain. But now is Christ arisen! Arisen! Arisen! But now is Christ arisen!"

I share these words from my favorite Easter hymn to wish you the joy and the hope that is ours because of Christ's Resurrection. Our faith depends on this central mystery. So let us rejoice in it... this great Day that lasts 50 days. My God bless us and renew us especially during the Easter season.

Holy Week was made beautiful in so many ways: the efforts of our music ministry, our flower committee, our altar servers and other liturgical ministers, our hospitality folks—including those who put on the reception for those brought into the Church at the Easter Vigil, and those who decorated the church for the Triduum liturgies. There are so many good people who love our parish and who are always eager to share their time and talents. Sincere thanks to you all!

The next big event happens very quickly. This coming Thursday, April 24th, we will welcome Archbishop Coakley as he celebrates Mass and administers the Sacrament of Confirmation to our youth who have been preparing for this day for two years. Actually, they and their families have been preparing for it ever since they were baptized. How wonderful it would be if the church were full for this joyful event!

Please note that the office is closed this Monday, April 21st. And there is no daily Mass on Tuesday, April 22nd.

Happy Easter, Fr. Wood

Welcome Message

Dear friends:

Welcome to Saint Mark Parish Home page. If you are a member of the parish you probably know your way around fairly well. I encourage you to take a careful look at the 2012 Annual Report, follow the weekly schedule here to the right, and find access to the Sunday Bulletin. The Sunday liturgies with homilies are here in the Liturgy Menu.

If you are visiting us here on the web, welcome, and I hope that you can find whatever has brought you to our web site. Should you be in Norman, OK; please feel welcome here, and I hope you will stop in for a personal greeting or some time in prayer should you be nearby.

     Peace be with you.
Fr. Wood
